The Smoke House is a place where tobacco, pipes, all kinds of magazines, newspapers and paperback books are sold. This is also a place where Pat, the writer, comes to tell his stories and let other people tell their stories. In The Brass Ring collection, Pat has put two collections with two volumes to tell of mankind effort in reaching for meaning and goals during their life time. The Brass Ring concept is taken from the Merry-Go-Round. One must reach out to grab the ‘Brass Ring’ to win a free ride on the Merry Go Round. This is not easily done. There are many failures in this venture. The same is in a person’s walk through life. Enjoy the stories, these stories in these two volumes.
