Beschrijving
Starting from rigorous and robust theoretical arguments, through which the autonomy of musical art is affirmed, the Author moves from an apodictic tone to a poetic one, portraying as true regions of a hypothetical parallel world the profound traces that music leaves within us. It is an engaging overview of composers, works, and performers. A wide range of music is examined, from the most well-known to the less familiar, in a suggestive language where themes of broad cultural scope are presented with brilliant literary vivacity.
Roberto Barreca is a philosopher, musician, psychologist, and psychoanalyst.
